Funding is the biggest challenge for any fire department, no matter the size.

The Chiefs of your department have been hard at work upgrading our equipment through the grant process, and we are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have secured two major grants totaling $174,084.00 over the last few months!

These funds directly invest in our digital security and the physical safety of our firefighters on the front lines. Here is a breakdown of how these grants are moving our department forward:

🌐 1. Mississippi Department of Homeland Security Grant ($71,300.00)
This critical funding focuses on cybersecurity to bring our department into full compliance with federal regulations and safely protect our operational data.

• What it covers: Brand new station computers, state-of-the-art software, and robust firewalls.

• Timeline: Work on this project has already kicked off and will be fully completed within the next few months!
👨‍🚒 2. FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) ($102,784.00 Total)

We received $97,889.52 in federal funding paired with a local department match of $4,894.00 to maximize our impact.

•What it covers: Brand new, top-tier turnout gear for our firefighters.

•The Impact:
This ensures every single one of our firefighters is outfitted in fully NFPA-compliant gear, drastically enhancing the safety of our responders during structural fires and emergencies.

Our Chiefs remain dedicated to hunting down these competitive funding opportunities to protect both our residents and our responders without placing the entire financial burden on our local community.

Big news! We are thrilled to officially announce that our brand-new UTV grass fire and remote rescue capabilities unit has arrived and is officially in service.

This specialized unit is fully equipped to handle challenging off-road emergencies. It features an 80-gallon water tank, a self-contained pump, and a hose reel for rapid fire suppression. For remote medical emergencies, it includes a dedicated rescue basket and a specialized mount designed to safely transport patients out of wooded or off-road areas.
This new asset significantly enhances our response capabilities for both fires and rescues. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the department commissioners for their vital support in making this project a reality.
