For many of us, the events of September 11, 2001, are etched in memory as a defining moment—one that awakened a profound call to serve something greater than ourselves.
Across our agency those moments carry a deeply personal weight: some of our team members answered that call by enlisting in the military, entering emergency services, or public safety, while others carry the legacy of parents and loved ones who stepped up in the wake of that tragedy.
Today, Stokes County EMS pauses to honor the innocent lives lost, the families forever altered, and the extraordinary selflessness shown in our darkest of hours.
We remember the first responders and ordinary citizens who ran toward danger, and we honor the ongoing commitment of those who continue to serve in uniform across our country and abroad.
Time moves forward, but the memory of those who fell—and the unity that pulled us through—remains unbroken.
We will never forget. 🇺🇸
