Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hampton County Sheriff's Office and the family, friends, and fellow law enforcement officers of Deputy Samuel Holmes. Thank you for your many years of service. May you rest in peace.

Hampton County Sheriff’s Office is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Deputy Samuel Holmes.

Deputy Holmes joined Hampton County Sheriff’s Office shortly after retiring from the South Carolina Highway Patrol, bringing with him several years of dedicated law enforcement service. During his service with HCSO, Deputy Holmes served as a School Resource Officer at North District Middle School.

“Deputy Holmes was an outstanding officer with a warm, bubbly personality, an infectious smile and a commitment to serving others. He will be deeply missed. Our hearts are with his family, and we ask our community to please keep his family lifted in prayer during this very difficult time.”
- Sheriff Anthony Russell

The Hampton County Sheriff’s Office family extends our deepest condolences to Deputy Holmes’ family, friends, fellow law enforcement officers and all who had the privilege of knowing him. We will certainly miss Deputy Holmes.
