To keep confusion down on Election Day, please read carefully and act accordingly. This is SHARED from Choctaw County.
Recently, we have been made aware of organizations or groups going into local businesses and urging people to fill out voter registration applications. While the forms are legitimate, we cannot vouch for the legitimacy of the groups collecting them. We are also unsure of the legitimacy of their claims that "thousands" of voter registrations have been cancelled improperly. These groups are not directly affiliated with the Circuit Clerk's office nor the Secretary of State's office. If you would like to check on your voter's registration status, please call our office at 662-258-6287 or go to the Mississippi Secretary of State's website. We will be glad to assist you in any way we can!
On that note, the Circuit Clerk's office will be open Saturday, October 3rd until noon for voter registration. Monday, October 5th is the last day to register if you plan to vote in the November 3rd election. Our office is open Monday thru Friday from 8am-5pm for Absentee Voting. If you would like more information on absentee voting or to see if you qualify, please call us during regular business hours and we would be glad to help you.
