🌟 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: Board of Supervisors Meeting (10/6/2026) 🌟

The Madison County Board of Supervisors met today, Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The morning began with Committee of the Whole and an Employee Recognition Ceremony at 10:00 AM, followed by the full Board Meeting at 11:00 AM. The meeting also included public hearings on two proposed local laws. Below are a few highlights from today’s meeting.

🔹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 #1: 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
The Board recognized Lorrie Miner-Hall of Social Services for 25 years of service and Lori Massey of Social Services for 10 years of service to Madison County.

🔹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 #12: 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘁-𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀
The Board authorized a 2027 agreement with Together for Youth for the Back on Track program. The program provides preventive services aimed at helping at-risk children and families, preventing foster care placements and reducing the length of residential placements.

🔹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 #17: 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺
The Board authorized a 2027 agreement with Madison County Tourism, Inc. to continue promoting attractions and tourism throughout the county. Madison County Tourism, Inc. was also designated as the County’s official Tourism Promotion Agency.

🔹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 #18 & #19: 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝘀
The Board established the 2027 residential Solid Waste Punch Card fee at $27 for five punches and approved updated fees for participation in the County’s Solid Waste Management Program. The new fee schedules will take effect January 1, 2027.

🔹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 #24: 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀
Madison County received $3.75 million in Host Community Benefit revenue from New York State. The Board authorized more than $1.5 million in grants to towns, villages and the City of Oneida, with funding distributed to municipalities throughout Madison County.
