Our road crew has been hard at work getting the leaf vac ready to get this fall cleanup underway!

They may have scattered when the camera came out, but they were out there getting ready to hit the roads! 😂

POLICE BEAT | SEPTEMBER 4–7, 2026

The Conewango Township Police Department investigated several incidents between September 4 and September 7.

Retail Theft / Trespassing
On September 4, officers responded to a local business for a reported retail theft and arrested Melisha Hesslink-Drescher, 32, of Warren, after she attempted to leave without paying for several items. She was charged with Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the second degree, through Magisterial District Court and issued a notice of trespass by the business.

On September 5, officers returned to the same business for a trespassing complaint and again located Hesslink-Drescher inside. She was subsequently charged with Defiant Trespass, a misdemeanor of the third degree.

Crash
On September 7, officers investigated a crash in the 2900 block of Market Street involving a 2018 Chrysler operated by Madison Jones, 19, of Warren, and a 2021 Ford Ranger operated by Patrick Mitchell, 60, of Gifford. Officers determined Jones was following too closely. Neither driver reported injuries.

Telephone Scam
Also on September 7, police took a report of a suspected telephone scam involving an individual claiming to be associated with Publishers Clearing House. The victim reported losing an undisclosed amount of money.

Police remind residents that legitimate prize organizations will not require you to send money, purchase gift cards, or provide financial information to claim a prize. Never provide personal or financial information to unsolicited callers.

Anyone who believes they have been the victim of a scam should contact local law enforcement and retain any related phone numbers, messages, receipts or other documentation.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
