During September, Warwick EMS responded to 160 emergency calls, bringing the agency's total to 1,660 calls in 2026. Volunteers and paid staff also dedicated 134 hours of service throughout September. Falls and general illnesses accounted for the largest number of responses, followed by motor vehicle incidents, chest pain, and breathing emergencies.
As the demand for emergency medical services continues to grow, so does the need for dedicated volunteers. Warwick EMS members come from all walks of life, including students, retirees, teachers, business owners, and healthcare professionals. They share one common goal: helping their neighbors when it matters most.
No previous medical experience is necessary to join. Warwick EMS provides training and support, including CPR, first aid, ambulance operations, and opportunities to become a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Members can serve in operational or support roles based on their interests and availability.
Beyond emergency response, Warwick EMS remains committed to community health and education.
A free blood pressure clinic is held on the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Warwick Station.
Warwick EMS also maintains a Medical Equipment Loan Closet, providing residents with medical equipment at no cost, based on availability. Thanks to the generosity of local residents, this program has helped dozens of individuals and families in need.
Residents needing equipment are encouraged to call and leave a message, and a member will return their call. Borrowers are kindly reminded to return equipment when it is no longer needed, especially wheelchairs, which are frequently requested. Returning these items allows Warwick EMS to continue helping others in the community.
Additionally, Warwick EMS offers monthly Adult, Child, and Infant CPR and First Aid classes for community members and EMS personnel. Classes cost $50 each, and registration is available by emailing [email protected].
Warwick EMS is always looking for individuals interested in giving back to their community. Whether responding to emergencies or assisting behind the scenes, every volunteer plays an important role in keeping our community safe.
Warwick EMS extends its sincere appreciation to its volunteers, paid staff, and the residents whose continued generosity and support make these services possible.
When our community calls for help, Warwick EMS is there to answer.
