This week I joined Senator Ron Wyden at three town halls in Coos, Curry and Douglas County. We discussed everything from bringing more good paying-jobs to Oregon to affordable healthcare, the Port of Coos Bay and everything in between.

It was great meeting more Oregonians and hearing your concerns, we take them seriously and will bring them back to DC.

Yesterday Senator Ron Wyden and I had the honor of presenting Lieutenant Colonel David Gauntlett a Bronze Star with a V. During his service in Vietnam, he manned a radio Jeep and was the only source of communication for air support during an attack. His bravery saved lives.

This medal is long overdue. In over 50 years of service to the military, Dave demonstrated great courage and patriotism.

As we reach the end of Mental Health Awareness Month, I stood with my Mental Health Caucus colleagues to reaffirm that mental health is just as important as physical health.

If you or a loved one is experiencing a mental health crisis you can call 988 for support.

Yesterday I joined the Roseburg community in remembering and honoring our fallen heroes. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

This Memorial Day, we remember their bravery and recommit ourselves to protecting the freedoms and democracy they fought to defend.

Wyden, Schumer introduce bill to tax Trump-linked political violence fund at 100% 05/24/2026

While your family struggles to pay bills, the President is making you pay for his slush fund to pay off people who were convicted of attempting to to foment an insurrection of our duly elected gov’t and who assaulted our law enforcement officers. This is wrong on so many levels.

The American people deserve better and we will never agree to this corrupt payoff scheme.

Wyden, Schumer introduce bill to tax Trump-linked political violence fund at 100% Senate Democrats on Thursday introduced legislation aimed at blocking what they describe as a $1.8 billion "slush fund" tied to Trump.
