On May 29, 2026, a meeting was held at the White House in Washington, D.C., between Rashid Meredov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and Marco Rubio, Secretary of State of the United States of America.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for the further development of Turkmenistan-U.S. cooperation across a wide range of areas.
The sides noted with satisfaction the recent intensification of bilateral political and diplomatic dialogue and emphasized the importance of maintaining regular contacts at senior and high levels.
Particular attention was paid to cooperation in trade and economic affairs, energy, transport, and connectivity. In this context, the sides underscored the importance of expanding mutually beneficial partnership, including in the areas of energy security and diversification of energy supply routes.
The meeting also addressed cooperation in regional security, countering current challenges and threats, as well as interaction within multilateral formats, including the C5+1 platform.
The sides noted the significant potential for further development of bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed their mutual interest in continuing constructive dialogue on all areas of shared interest.

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the United States H.E. Esen Aydogdyyev met with Mr. Eric Stewart, Executive Director of the U.S.-Turkmenistan Business Council, and representatives of the Council’s member companies.

The meeting focused on opportunities to further expand trade, investment, agriculture, energy, transport, industry, and private sector cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United States.

Special attention was given to the upcoming visit of the U.S.-Turkmenistan Business Council delegation to Turkmenistan.

On May 9, 2026, representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United States attended the exhibition “Adorning the Horse: Equestrian Textiles for Power and Prestige” and the screening of the documentary film “Atlan” at The George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum in Washington, D.C.

The program highlighted the historical and cultural significance of equestrian textiles, including Turkmen pieces that reflect the rich artistic traditions of the Turkmen people and their deep connection with horses.

Following the exhibition and film screening, Embassy representatives met with the organizers and exchanged views on the importance of preserving and promoting equestrian heritage. The Embassy noted that Turkmenistan declared 2026 as “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses,” underscoring the special place of horses, particularly the Akhal-Teke horse, in Turkmen national culture.

The Embassy expressed appreciation to the GW Museum and The Textile Museum for promoting cultural dialogue between Turkmenistan and the United States.

On May 7, 2026, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United States, jointly with the International Monetary Fund, hosted an event at the IMF Headquarters in Washington, D.C., titled “Economic Development of Turkmenistan in the Context of Regional and Global Economic Outlook.” The newly established Turkmen-American Business Cooperation Association (TABCA) served as an official partner of the event.

The event brought together more than 80 distinguished participants, including Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the United States Esen Aydogdyyev, U.S. Ambassador to Turkmenistan Elizabeth Rood, Mr. Patryk Łoszewski, Executive Director, IMF, Hiro Rodriguez of the U.S. Department of Commerce, representatives of the U.S. Department of State, IMF, World Bank, CIPE, the U.S.–Turkmenistan Business Council, TABCA, and business leaders from Turkmenistan and the United States.

Participants discussed Turkmenistan’s economic development, prospects for expanding Turkmen-American trade and investment cooperation, and opportunities to strengthen direct business-to-business contacts between the private sectors of the two countries.

The program also featured a cultural exhibition and a presentation of Turkmen national cuisine, highlighting the rich heritage, traditions, and hospitality of Turkmenistan.

On May 7, 2026, the official opening of the Turkmen American Business Cooperation Association (TABCA) and its first business forum took place in Washington, D.C.
The event brought together more than 50 Turkmen and American companies representing logistics, e-commerce, IT, education, consulting, trade, services, and other areas of small and medium-sized business.
The forum focused on strengthening direct B2B contacts between entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and the United States. Participants presented their business activities, explored opportunities for cooperation, and exchanged practical experience in doing business in both countries.
Representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan congratulated TABCA’s leadership and members on the launch of the Association and highlighted its importance as a new practical platform for expanding Turkmen-American trade and economic cooperation, with a special focus on small and medium-sized enterprises.
The event also featured a Business-to-Business Networking Session and an award ceremony recognizing outstanding Turkmen-American entrepreneurs for their contribution to strengthening business ties between Turkmenistan and the United States.
The launch of TABCA marks an important step toward building stronger, more direct, and mutually beneficial connections between the business communities of the two countries.

Turkmen business leaders are on a working visit to the United States, participating in the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2026 and engaging with American companies and investors. Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the United States Esen Aydogdyyev also took part in the event.
