The last several times we've tried to get through Navy Yard, the eastern gate has been inexplicably locked. There have been no signs to warn passers through that they will need to retrace their steps. Be forewarned.

Trail designs for Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens to be unveiled

The District will unveil designs for the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens segment of the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail, from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, at Anacostia Avenue and Benning Road NE.

The Anacostia Riverwalk Trail is a nearly 60-mile network of bicycle and pedestrian trails. Have you ever wondered why the trail is detoured at RFK with the ridiculous "Walk Your Bike" sign? DCWASA is building a sewage treatment diversion system to comply with Federal clean water regulations instead of dumping it in the river. See document below.

We'd like to know what the timeline for completion is, and in the meantime get a detour that's compliant with trail infrastructure best practices for those who are also keeping the environment clean by using bikes or walking and not driving.http://www.dcwater.com/workzones/projects/pdfs/LTCP-Division-C.pdf
