Congress is voting RIGHT NOW on the Big Ugly Bill — a brutal budget that would:
❌ Strip health care from up to 16 million people
❌ Cut $1.3 trillion from Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP
❌ Shut down rural hospitals
❌ End food assistance for millions
❌ Kill jobs — while giving billionaires tax breaks
This is a full-scale attack on our communities.

WTF is happening with this budget and WTF can we do about it? The time to act is now!! If it’s bad enough for senators to broker backroom deals to try to protect their constituents, then it’s bad for EVERYONE. 🚨 Flood their feeds, blow up their mentions!

Republicans want to sell millions of miles of public land to billionaires! 🚨
Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) just introduced a budget bill that would force the sale of up to 3.3 million acres of your public lands—across 11 Western states.
This isn’t about housing. It’s about a fire sale to benefit billionaires, oil companies, and private developers.
These are lands where wildlife live, families hike, tribes hold ceremony, and communities hunt and fish. Once sold, they’re gone for good—fenced off, drilled, mined, and lost forever.
Worse, this isn’t even going through normal public debate. Lee buried the proposal in a budget reconciliation bill—a fast-track process that avoids filibusters and public hearings. That means no public input, no environmental review, no accountability.
We see through the lie.
This isn’t about affordable homes. The bill doesn’t even require housing to be built. In fact, most of these lands will be bought by corporations looking to extract, privatize, and lock us out.
This is a massive betrayal of the public trust—and a test for every Western lawmaker. Will they stand with their constituents or cave to industry donors?
Tell your Senators: No land giveaways in reconciliation.
Use your voice.

Keep calling.

President Donald Trump’s budget bill making its way through Congress will cut taxes by $3.7 trillion but also increase deficits by $2.4 trillion over the next decade, according to an analysis released by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.
The CBO also estimates an increase of 10.9 million people without health insurance under the bill, including 1.4 million who are in the country without legal status in state-funded programs. The package would reduce federal outlays, or spending, by $1.3 trillion over that period, the budget office said.
The analysis comes at a crucial moment in the legislative process as Trump is pushing Congress to have the final product on his desk to sign into law by Fourth of July. The work of the CBO, which for decades has served as the official scorekeeper of legislation in Congress, will be weighed by lawmakers and others seeking to understand the budgetary impacts of the sprawling 1,000-page plus package.

Habeas corpus is one of the most basic protections we have in this country. It gives people the right to challenge being locked up without a fair reason. Without it, the government can detain anyone, for any reason, with no charges, no hearing, and no accountability.
Now, the Trump administration is openly considering suspending that right. This isn’t just about immigration. If habeas corpus is taken away, no one is truly safe from being detained without cause. Legal experts are calling it a national disaster in the making. The Constitution only allows suspending habeas corpus in cases of rebellion or invasion. Neither is happening now. In over 200 years of U.S. history, it’s only been suspended four times-and always during moments of extreme crisis.
This is a line we cannot afford to cross. What’s being proposed is a fundamental break from democracy, and it would set a dangerous precedent for how power is used in this country.
Pay attention. Stay alert. Our rights are not guaranteed if we stop defending them.

60 Years Since Bloody Sunday: The League is Watching – Congress Must Protect Voting Rights
On March 7, 1965, courageous men, women, and children marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, demanding the right to vote. Their bravery ignited a movement that changed history. We honor their legacy, especially the women who were instrumental in the march, including Amelia Boynton Robinson, Diane Nash, Joanne Bland, Annie Lee Cooper, Sarah Evans, Ruby Sales, Victoria Gray Adams, and many others.
In recognition of their sacrifices, Rep. Terri Sewell (AL-07), alongside every House Democrat, reintroduced the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (H.R. 14) in the 119th Congress on March 5, 2025, just days before the 60th anniversary of Bloody Sunday. This pivotal legislation aims to restore and modernize the Voting Rights Act of 1965, combating contemporary voter suppression and ensuring equal access to the ballot for all Americans.
