Private equity companies are turning autism treatment into a multi-billion dollar industry, sold as behavior management. Many providers (myself included) believe that autism is not a behavior to manage, but a neurodivergent brain that should be appreciated, accommodated, and nurtured.

ICARS’ first United Nations evidence submission is now open.

We are collecting photographic evidence of injuries and related harm associated with restraint, seclusion, isolation, removal rooms, physical intervention, guiding, mechanical restraint, and other restrictive practices in schools across England.

This evidence will support ICARS’ submission to the United Nations on disability discrimination, safeguarding failures, and the use of restraint, seclusion, and isolation in education.

The form is voluntary, non-identifying, and designed to protect children’s identities. Face, eye, or head injuries may still be submitted where needed. ICARS will crop, blur, or obscure identifying features before use unless explicit consent is given otherwise.

Most questions are multiple choice or checkboxes. The form should take around 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
Submissions close 31 May 2026.

Are there any neurodivergents who can honestly tell us they’ve not had most of these things said to them often? When ableists look at us, all they see are deficits to fix, character flaws, and willful misbehavior. They don’t see our struggles, only how our existing makes their lives more difficult. They deny us personhood not only by how they talk about us, but how they talk TO us. They aren’t interested in our happiness, only our compliance.

Do you see neurodivergents as equal to you, or do you see us as hopelessly broken and needing to be fixed?

In a system that has long underpaid and undervalued women athletes—especially Black women—the WNBA has reached a monumental deal.

After months of negotiations and years of advocacy, players secured a new collective bargaining agreement, marking one of the most significant moments in women’s sports labor history. The deal raises the salary cap to $7 million, with top salaries reaching $1.4 million and average pay rising to around $600,000.

Our commitment has always been bigger than visibility.

Black Play Matters, and so do the conditions around it: fair pay, real investment, and systems that allow Black athletes to thrive.
