Earth Day, Pt. II: We are so thankful for our volunteer guides, and all our partners, who helped make our Earth Day event a true fishing field trip. The students caught hickory shad, blueback herring, quillback carpsucker, and blue catfish, and had a blast doing it. It was a team effort, and we are already looking forward to next year!

This Earth Day, Friends of Fletcher’s Cove partnered with NPS, MPD, Orvis, and TU to host our 2nd Annual Earth Day Fishing Field Trip with Washington Global PCS. Students learned to cast with spinning and fly gear, participated in fun educational activities, ate a picnic lunch, and enjoyed guided shad fishing out of historic Fletcher’s Boathouse rowboats. At FFC, we’re committed to showcasing Fletcher’s Cove as a premier urban gateway to the outdoors right here in Washington, DC. Fish were caught, memories were made, and the event was a smash hit. More photos to come!
