Good Afternoon,
In 2025, GAFSC achieved a significant milestone! We successfully opened the Brightwood Family Success Center (BFSC) and became the only organization operating a Family Success Center in Ward 4. BFSC is there for all Ward 4 residents during times of crisis and when daily well-being assistance is needed. We provide concrete services, help, and resources such as service navigation to secure needed resources, youth programming, food and clothing distributions, an on-site computer lab, employment assistance, and other supports families rely on every day.
Be the Reason Why the Brightwood Family Success Center (BFSC) Matters to Our Community!
Please donate using the link in our bio!!
THANK YOU!

Happy Giving Tuesday!
For over 25 years, Georgia Avenue Family Support Collaborative (GAFSC) has successfully served the public good with a mission-driven purpose and a strong set of core values, providing essential family-centered social services, community-based case management, prevention programming, and community development. Over the many years, we have often stepped in to fill gaps not covered by the government or the for-profit sector.

As the holiday season continues, families' needs are often even greater, as financial concerns and other daily living stressors increase for many. At GAFSC, we know that even when people tell you they are fine, they may still be suffering in silence. We are experiencing continued growth in service needs, referrals, and daily needs requests through our Brightwood Family Success Center, GAFSC Family Services Division, and the 211-Warmline. For these reasons, we have increased our Giving Tuesday goal from $2,000 to $4,000. This will better enable us to meet the needs of families across Ward 4.
WON’T YOU PLEASE JOIN US TO SUPPORT THOSE WHO NEED HELP THE MOST?
Every contribution helps us deliver resources such as housing support, youth programming, food and clothing distributions, and employment assistance that families rely on every day.

At this time of year, families’ needs can be even greater, as the holidays heighten financial burdens and other daily living stressors for many. At GAFSC, we know that even when people tell you they are fine, they may still be suffering in silence. Our purpose becomes even stronger… to help those who need help the most. Additionally, service needs, referrals, and requests through our Brightwood Family Success Center and GAFSC Family Services Division continue to increase across Ward 4, as the past several months have been both complex and challenging for families.
For these reasons, we are increasing our Giving Tuesday goal from $2,000 to $4,000, which will enable us to better meet the needs of families across Ward 4.

National Truancy Prevention Month shines a light on the vital role consistent school attendance plays in shaping bright futures—and at GAFSC, we’re proud to be part of this important effort.
As a collaborator in the citywide Show Up, Stand Out (SUSO) initiative led by OSSE, we address absenteeism by tackling its root causes—like housing instability, mental health challenges, transportation gaps, and school engagement obstacles—through compassion, not punishment.
Our Family Support Workers build trust, provide essential resources, and work with families, caregivers, and schools to create solutions that help kids show up, stay connected, and flourish.
