🌹📚 We celebrated Sant Jordi once again in Washington, DC!

We brought the Day of Books and Roses to the city with book stands, local authors, and Sant Jordi materials and roses.

✨ We even hosted a fun workshop on how to drink from a porró!

It was great to see so many people join us, both those discovering Sant Jordi for the first time and those who already know and love this tradition.

Thank you to local bookstores that also joined the celebration by sharing roses and introducing their customers to this Catalan tradition. 🐉📖

Every April 23, Catalonia celebrates Sant Jordi, a unique tradition of books, roses, and culture.
Often compared to Valentine’s Day + World Book Day, it’s all about literature, love, and community.

This year, we’re bringing Sant Jordi to Washington, D.C. and New York with events open to all:

🥚 Last Monday, Catalonia celebrated Mona de Pasqua, a tradition with a very special meaning.

A gift from godparents to their godchildren, this iconic Easter cake symbolizes family, care, and the arrival of spring.

From simple boiled eggs to today’s creative creations, the mona remains a beloved part of Catalan culture.

Easter traditions in Catalonia are also celebrated through food- seasonal recipes, simple ingredients, and dishes shaped by Lent.

🎬 Catalan cinema returns to Washington, DC!

The Delegation of the Government of Catalonia to the United States and Canada and Cicle Gaudí - Cinema Català bring the best of Catalan cinema to the U.S. in 2026 with a new film series.

Join us on April 8 for the screening of Wolfgang (The Extraordinary), an emotional comedy-drama about the unexpected relationship between a father and his brilliant son.
