Turning over consumers' personal financial info to the IRS is wrong. We're grateful for those in Congress who, in response to significant concerns from their constituents, are taking a stand and hope Congress ultimately rejects any effort to air drop this in at the 11th hour.
Democrats call for removing IRS bank reporting proposal from spending bill
A group of 21 Democratic U.S. representatives sent a letter to House leadership on Wednesday calling for a proposed bank reporting rule to be removed from the $2 trillion dollar budget reconciliation bill.

Democrats scaled back a proposal that would require banks to send more information about customers’ accounts to the Internal Revenue Service, raising to $10,000 from $600 the key reporting threshold.
