Did you know that over 320,000 tons of plastic waste remain uncollected in the Caribbean each year?
To help address this challenge, the Caribbean Plastics Recycling Project is working in Grenada, Suriname, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago, and The Bahamas to:
♻️ Strengthen recycling systems
🤝 Support waste collectors
🌎 Foster regional collaboration
We’re highlighting recycling as one important step toward reducing plastic waste in the Caribbean. Watch the video to learn more about the region’s plastic waste challenges.
This project is made possible thanks to the support of The Coca-Cola Foundation.

Stronger communities are built together. 🤝
Through collaboration, training, and community-led action, PADF continues supporting safer and more resilient communities in Jamaica. Participants strengthened skills in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) and trauma-informed approaches, helping create solutions rooted in trust and prevention.
Because lasting security starts at the community level.

Safer cities are built through collaboration. 🤝
In Quito, the Second Public Follow-Up of the Metropolitan Security and Coexistence Plan brought together communities, civil society, and public institutions to strengthen prevention efforts.
At PADF, we contributed data and analysis on youth recruitment by criminal groups and shared strategies to prevent violence through our Safe Communities program.
Because better decisions start with better evidence.

Violence is evolving in Ecuador and understanding how is the first step to addressing it.
At a recent PADF event, new findings revealed a critical shift: organized crime is fragmenting into smaller, more agile groups that continue to drive violence across territories.
This is not just a local trend. It reflects broader dynamics that affect security across the region.
At PADF, we turn data into actionable insight to help shape smarter responses in security, justice, and prevention. Because when countries are better equipped to understand and respond to crime, the entire hemisphere becomes safer.
Understanding these trends is key to stronger responses and a safer hemisphere.

Behind every job, there’s a story.
Some start with opportunity. Others start by breaking barriers.
This Labor Day, we celebrate the women in Colombia who are doing both, with support from PADF.
From access to income to stronger communities, the impact is real.
A project implemented by Expertise France and PADF Colombia, in strategic partnership with the WWB Colombia Foundation, with funding from AFD (Agence Française de Développement).

Inspiring STEM futures. Transforming possibilities with Boeing
In São José dos Campos, we brought together more than 250 students for a day of discovery, creativity, and real connection to the future 🚀
Together with Boeing, we are celebrating 10 years of partnership in STEM and opening doors for young talent to explore science, technology, engineering, and math in hands-on, exciting ways.
From rockets to interactive challenges, every activity was designed to spark curiosity, expand horizons, and show that the future starts now.
At the Pan American Development Foundation, we believe that when education meets real opportunity, it creates pathways that transform lives and strengthen communities.
Investing in talent today means building the future we all share.

Economic opportunity is the foundation of stability. 🌎
In Panama and Costa Rica, PADF is working to unlock that potential by strengthening local businesses, expanding sustainable tourism, and connecting people to real pathways for jobs and income.
So far, 448 entrepreneurs, workers, and community members are already benefiting building stronger livelihoods and more resilient local economies.
This is how growth translates into stability. When communities have access to opportunity, countries grow stronger and the Americas become more secure, prosperous, and connected.
