Loud music. Gossiping Aunts. Never-ending goodbyes. Celebrating Thanksgiving in a Latino family can be hard and exhausting, but in the end, it is all worth it.

Thus, since this is the day of giving thanks, there are plenty of things to be thankful for such as crazy family members, delicious food, and lifelong memories.

Leaving Takes Another Hour Because Leftovers and Goodbyes. After hours spent together, no one is leaving the house without enough leftovers to feed them through the weekend — or until Christmas. Plus, you know

El Dia de los Mu***os (the Day of the Dead) is a holiday that begins to be celebrated on November 1 and ends on November 2 to honor the dead with festivals and lively celebrations. This Mexican holiday has been influenced by Catholicism and indigenous Aztec rituals to justify the idea the dead awaken from their eternal sleep to celebrate life with their loved ones. Instead of being sad and mourn over the dead, Dia de los Mu***os recognizes that death is a natural part of life, so the celebrations of honoring the dead consists of food, drinks, activities, and parties that the dead enjoyed in life. The three-day fiesta environment is filled with pan de mu**to (Day of the Dead bread), skeletons and skulls (calacas and calaveras) which are decorated with life and happiness, trips to cemeteries to decorate the graves and tombs, and flowers and candles everywhere.
