Greetings everyone:

The Sixth District, in partnership with the American Red Cross, will host our upcoming blood drive on Wednesday, July 8th, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Sixth District Community Room, located at 5002 Hayes Street NE.

During our February drive, we welcomed 37 donors, 19 of whom were first-time participants, and successfully collected 31 units of blood. The impact of our February drive is a direct reflection of the compassion and generosity within this community. Each donation plays a vital role in supporting patients and helping hospitals meet critical needs.

Donation appointments are available throughout the day, and we strongly encourage those who are able to participate to register early. Additional details can be found in the attached flyer. If you experience any difficulty securing a time slot, please feel free to contact Officer Jason Medina, of the Sixth District outreach team, at [email protected].

Your willingness to give continues to make a real difference. We look forward to building on this momentum and coming together once again to support this life-saving effort.

This is what community is all about. The Sixth District Outreach team had the pleasure of working with the members of the Washington Senior Wellness Center on a candle making event. Our seniors mean the world to us and it was a honor to continue our support of them through engagement and activities.

Thank you to the Iron Star Foundation for supporting this effort with our community members.

Yesterday, Friday, March 13th, Coffee with a Cop was successfully hosted by Gigis Coffee Roasters in collaboration with the Sixth District, East River Family Strengthening Collaborative, Inc., and the Ward 7 Mayor’s Office of Community Relations and Services (MOCRS).

The event provided a welcoming and relaxed environment for community members to engage directly with officers and community partners over coffee and conversation. Residents had the opportunity to share concerns, ask questions, and build stronger relationships with those working to support public safety and community well-being in Ward 7.

We appreciate the partnership and hospitality of Gigi’s Coffee Roasters, as well as the continued collaboration of our community stakeholders who help make these meaningful engagements possible.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a productive and positive discussion.
