New data from PAAIA’s 2026 National Public Opinion Survey highlights the nuanced perspectives of Iranian Americans on the Iran conflict.

Conducted March 18–23, this national survey examines views on U.S.–Israeli airstrikes and the future of governance in Iran.

58% support U.S.–Israeli airstrikes, while 40% oppose

Nearly half express concern that the current—or a more hardline—regime could remain in power

Civilian casualties and the long-term consequences of the conflict remain key concerns

At the same time, a strong majority of respondents favor a transition toward a democratic form of governance in Iran.

These findings underscore that Iranian American views are multifaceted, reflecting both support for strategic actions and caution about their broader implications.

Norooz arrives as it always has—bringing light, renewal, and the quiet strength of a people who have endured and risen, again and again.

For Iranian Americans, as with Iranians, Norooz is deeply personal—woven into family, memory, and home—and shared across generations, faiths, and cultures. It reminds us that no darkness lasts forever.

And across Iran, even in the face of uncertainty, people continue to celebrate—holding onto their traditions as an expression of resilience and belief in a brighter future.

Norooz endures because so do we—with resilience and with light.

Freedom cannot wait. Widespread protests erupted across Iran in December 2025 as severe economic hardship, including soaring inflation and a collapsing currency, sparked nationwide demonstrations calling for freedom and democratic change. Security forces have responded with violence, mass detentions, and internet shutdowns aimed at silencing peaceful protesters.
