Local Governments are at the forefront of protecting our Chesapeake Bay Watershed. We work with our neighbors to promote best practices to reduce our carbon footprint, protect and preserve clean, fishable and swimmable rivers and streams, promote healthy oyster and crab population, etc. I'm honored to represent the District of Columbia with Brianne Nadeau & Markus E. Batchelor on the multi-state Chesapeake Bay Local Gov't Advisory Committee. Even more thrilled to serve as the current Chairperson and send our 2023 recommendations to the Governors of PA, VA, MD, NY, WV and DC Mayor to ensure a healthy Chesapeake Bay.

NEW LEAF COLLECTION PROCEDURE FOR 2024!! Unlike years past, there are no pre-announced hard dates for leaf collection. Instead announcements will be made throughout the coming weeks into December a week before collection starts. This is so residents don't rake, pile only to wait on DPW due to delays and re rake and pile, wait again. For more details check out the DPW FAQ photos plus access the real time leaf collection tracker here: https://dcgis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=fa5476e8cedb4eb185c9b30f173fde4b

Great to walk with Lt Merzig and Commander Branch this weekend where we discussed public safety and enforcement issues along P street, the waterfront and Wisconsin, jurisdiction between NPS and MPD and enforcement of double parking to name a few. Want to join us on the next walk or flag an issue for me to raise? Let me know. Thanks to our neighbor and Citizens Association of Georgetown CAG Executive Director Brittany Sawyer for the photos and organizing.
