Homeless Emcampment

We're excited to share a moment with Executive Director Michael L. Ferrell and the talented artist, Luis Del Valle, who has generously donated his stunning painting, "Mr. Baldwin II" to our silent auction for the Stepping Out for the Homeless fundraising gala. This event is crucial in helping us send individuals home and support our ten programs in Washington D.C. for the unhoused community. Luis describes "Mr. Baldwin II" as a heartfelt tribute to the iconic James Baldwin, a towering figure in American literature and social justice. The artwork beautifully incorporates symbolic elements- a hummingbird, butterflies, and an owl to reflect Baldwin's profound life and legacy. Don't miss your chance to own this incredible piece of art! Join us at the auction, where your bid not only secures a unique treasure but also contributes to our mission of creating a brighter future for people experiencing homelessness. Together, we can make a difference! November 1st, 2024!

A home is so much more than four walls and it's significance takes on many forms depending on who you ask. As we prepare for an unforgettable event this fall to raise funds for the Coalition's vital homeless services and programing, staff are thinking about what home means to them. ๐Ÿกโค๏ธ

For Staff Accountant Tara Walters, home provides privacy and the opportunity to indulge in hobbies like crochet and knitting. Tara's favorite thing about her home is also spending time with family.

We invite you to help D.C.'s unhoused residents go home to create their own special moments and memories. Early registration is NOW OPEN for the 2024 Stepping Out for the Homeless: Glitz, Glam & Sneakers gala.
