To All DC Residents: If you have received your DC mail-in ballot, please vote for Dorothy Douglas, Member at Large State Board of Education.

Douglas was a teacher in the District of Columbia Public Schools System, a former employee of the District of Columbia Department of Corrections, and former Director of the Deanwood Youth Services. She is the consummate volunteer and ardent community activist. Since living in Ward 7 for more than 30 years, Douglas has voluntarily been an active advocate. She has served as a member of, and has held leadership positions, in several community and social organizations.

Her advocacy efforts includes work with the Summer Youth Employment Program, Benning Library, the Deanwood Citizens Association, Deanwood Youth Services, and Marshall Heights Community Development Organization among others.

Ms. Douglas attended Payne Elementary School, Hine Junior High School and Eastern and Spingarn Senior High Schools. She then earned her BS in Elementary Education form the University of the District of Columbia (UDC).
