The Supreme Court's dismantling of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act is not an isolated legal decision. It is part of a broader pattern, one that places more discretion in the hands of those already in power and less protection in the hands of those who have historically been denied it.
Political strategist and community organizer Christopher Ford writes about what this moment demands of us in a new op-ed for Democracy Docket.

We tell stories for a living. So why have we gone quiet about our own?
Raben Managing Principal and NILE President Larry Gonzalez reflects on legacy, mentorship, and what the lobbying profession owes the next generation of advocates. Ten years into NILE’s work, he poses a question that extends far beyond one organization: Who tells our story, and who are we bringing along when we do?

Who Tells Our Story? A Reflection on Legacy, Mentorship, & the Next Generation
When I think about how I found my way into this profession, the honest answer is: carefully, and mostly alone. There were no clear roadmaps, no obvious mentors waiting with a hand outstretched. I figured it out the way a lot of us did, through trial and error, through relationships built slowly over...

This Memorial Day, we’re honoring the veterans who served this country before it was ready to fully recognize them.
The soldiers who crossed borders, broke racial barriers, fought in segregated units, and returned home to discrimination, denied benefits, and erased histories and records. Their stories deserve to be told and remembered.
Swipe to meet the Forgotten Fighters.

By the time an issue reaches a hearing room, people have already formed opinions about it through podcasts, films, music, and culture.
Raben's Temi Onayemi argues that funding culture work is not separate from social impact work. It shapes narratives, influences public understanding, and moves people long before policy catches up.

Culture Changes Before Policy Does - Raben
Most of my closest friends don’t work in policy. They work in design, tech, education, and restaurants. Most have never read a piece of legislation cover to cover. But they notice things. Whose story is being told and whose is not. They text me clips from podcasts. They send me lyrics. They refere...

Our LATINStrategies group was proud to support MomsRising/Mamás Con Poder as their members and children took to Capitol Hill for a historic first, Mother's Day Champion Pin Award Pop-up.
The event brought families face to face with Members of Congress, including Leader Jeffries, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, and Whip Clark, to recognize champions of pro-family affordability policies and share firsthand how those policies are shaping their lives.
This is exactly the kind of meaningful advocacy our LATINStrategies team is honored to be a part of.
