Celebrating Janay Byrne this Women’s History Month!

Janay Byrne serves as an Investigator for the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works Minority, where she conducts oversight and investigative work related to matters within the Committee’s jurisdiction.
 
Prior to joining the Committee, Janay was a political appointee in the Biden Administration, serving as a Policy Advisor at the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA).  In this role, she supported the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs and worked closely on congressional oversight matters.
 
Janay previously gained experience on Capitol Hill as Mark Warner’s (D-VA) first Senate Page followed by an internship for Sen. John Kerry (D-MA).  After graduating from college, she returned to Capitol Hill to work on the House side for Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH). Originally from Alexandria, Virginia, Janay is a proud Hokie.  She currently resides in Maryland with her husband and dog.

We truly appreciate our law school students for taking the time to be panelist and providing us with honest conversation and valuable insight into the Black law school experience!

Last week, members of SBLSC partnered with We Are family DC to create over 500 grocery bags for low-income seniors in the North Capitol and Columbia Heights neighborhoods.
