We are the largest provider of housing+supportive services for women experiencing homelessness in DC.

N Street Village was founded in 1972 by members of Luther Place Memorial Church who saw a need to provide services for the growing homeless population in Washington, D.C. What began as sleeping mats on the floor of the church evolved into a comprehensive continuum of care for homeless and low-income women sited in a 150,000 square foot facility at 14th and N Streets, NW in the Logan Circle neighbo

As we close out Mental Health Awareness Month, take a look at how we highlighted mental health at our flagship location! Mental health care is a pillar of the work we do at the Village. It is inherently tied to the basic needs of the women we serve. Earlier this month, volunteers from Deloitte held a wellness event for the women we serve at Bethany Women's Day Center. They created an environment for attendees to care for their minds and bodies with chair yoga, positive affirmations, and delicious snacks. We greatly appreciate the support!

This Mother’s Day, we honor the strength, care, and resilience of every mother and mother figure. We celebrate all women who create connection and support for those around them, while also recognizing that this day can hold many different emotions and experiences.
To all the mothers, and women who nurture others, you are seen, valued, and celebrated.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and N Street Village is proud to be an affiliate of Mental Health America. To mark the occasion, they provided us with a "Mental Health Action Box" to share with the women we serve. Behavioral health services are a critical part of our work at the Village, helping women address the impacts of trauma, mental health challenges, and other barriers that can contribute to homelessness and housing instability.

As we near the end of National Volunteer Month, we invite you to learn about Suman and Alok Berry, who cook and serve nourishing meals at Bethany Women's Day Center every month. Throughout their nine years volunteering at NSV, they have brought in younger generations of their family and inspired them to serve their community in meaningful ways.
