1823: James Monroe, one of our best and brightest and the current president of the US, created a doctrine that stated that further European efforts to colonize North or South America would be seen as acts of aggression that would be countered with intervention from the US Military. If you're reading this and you're a European monarch, back off or we'll put the nation's military on you. We worked in agreement with Great Britain on this doctrine, just to put in perspective how serious we are. It is our hope that this doctrine will prove to no longer allow the new world to become a battleground for old world power.

Update 1819: Citizens of America, Henry Clay has put together a plan that admits Missouri as a slave state and makes Maine a free state. Slavery will now be prohibited north of the 36° 30° parallel in Louisiana territory.

We are having a panic attack in this year, 1819, but in order to get through this depression we must calm down. Even though the immense amount of debt, bankruptcy, deflation, business failures, and unemployment may seem bad, we will get through this. For my name is James Monroe and I will lead you through these tough times!

Our boy Monroe has been busy with foreign policy. It is about land, land, and more land. He has worked out a boundary with England between the U.S. and Canada from the Great Lakes to the Rocky mountains. This was at the convention of 1818. He also got busy with the Spanish in Florida. Me bought Florida from the Spanish. In the Adams-Onis treaty (1819).

John Marshall, , has been at the head of the Supreme Court since 1801. Fortunately he has established the legal authority of the Supreme Court and with several cases, such as Marbury v. Madison, he has helped to enforce positive principles within our judiciary system. Under the leadership of John Marshall the United States is proud to announce the introduction of Judicial Review in our government. This means that laws passed by the Legislative and Executive branches of government must also be seen as lawful by the Chief Justice, and consequently the Judicial Branch of government as a whole.

We have given the three most powerful legislators in our country a new nickname. Henry Clay, Daniel Webster, and John Calhoun are now to be referred to, in unity, as the “Great Triumvirate”. Each of these individuals represents a different region of our new nation, and each is crucial because of their legislative power in passing laws which benefit their region. Henry Clay, of Kentucky, represents the issues and interests of the Western coast of the United States. Daniel Webster, of Massachusetts, represents the interests of New England and the North. And finally John Calhoun, of South Carolina, who represents the interests of the South. With their opposition to the policies of President Jackson, , they found themselves in an alliance with one another.

Our congress passed the first Tariff today, the year being 1816. Its purpose was to protect the value of U.S. manufactured goods to avoid the purchasing of cheap European labor. The tariff received heavy amounts of support from the Northern states. A tax has been put on imports from England so that there an incentive in buying domestic goods. The tariff has been authorized only for three years, maybe it will help to expand our economy.

The New England Federalist party met today to discuss the concerns about the everlasting war (of 1812). The issues expanded into a critique on the growing power of the federal government. Many went so far as to plea for succession, but only the the radical federalists from New England. The removal of the three-fifths compromise was approached, but slavery remains immune to criticism as an institution. Additionally, new laws were passed such as the prohibiting of any trade embargo lasting longer than 60 days and the requirement of ⅔ congressional majority for declaration of war. Creating the foundations of a Utopia is becoming increasingly difficult.

Our great president, James Madison, has led our people to victory over the British attacks on our land. Praise to Gen. Andrew Jackson for his leadership at the Battle of New Orleans. Also, Shout out to our girl Dolly Madison of saving the portrait of Washington. Even though it wasn't the best fought war, it was ended with the treaty of Ghent. We have proven our selves to the world!!! 1812-1814

After the collapse of much of our economy due to the embargo (1807) and non-intercourse acts (1809), Macon's Bill #2 has figured out the perfect answer. It states that as long as Britain and France do not continue to kidnap our merchants and ships, we will be allowed to trade with them.

Update: Dam British! Stop bullying us! You’re making us upset! Stop killing our sailors and pretending you are Americans. We hate this! This Cheapeake Affair is horrible. This impressment has to stop! Boarding our ship and taking our goods? Really British? You fools! So immature!

Jefferson has decided to assemble standing armies to defend ships off our coast. This goes against his traditional government views because this decision has close ties to tyrannical practice, but with desperate times come desperate measures even if this choice may be seen as unconstitutional on paper it is for the good of our country's people.
