The Washington AIDS Partnership (WAP) had a great time at the Funders Concerned About AIDS (FCAA) Summit. WAP executive director and FCAA board chair Channing Wickham delivered his opening remarks to a diverse group of philanthropists, community organizers, activists, and HIV/health advocates. The Health Corps team was also present, volunteering at the summit and attending the many different workshops and breakout sessions offered. It was a great two days of learning and meeting people from across the world dedicated to working in the HIV sphere. Many thanks to John Barnes and the FCAA team for hosting such an informative and engaging summit!

Funders Concerned About AIDS (FCAA) is the leading voice on philanthropic resources allocated to the global AIDS epidemic. It provides funders with the necessary data to make informed decisions related to allocating increased, focused HIV/AIDS resources.
FCAA has spent the past year taking an in-depth look at funding for community-based responses to help determine how philanthropy can better support them. This year’s convening is focused, in large part, around the findings from this effort. We will discuss:
• What “community” means to different stakeholders; and
• Key challenges, opportunities and best practices for private funders to support community-based organizations.
See you there!

Here's a throwback to last Friday when we concluded our pre-service orientation at the University of Maryland's Ropes Course. The team had a great time bonding and exercising together!
