This Indigenous Peoples' Day, Academy Policy Director, Elaine Weiss, discusses indigenous peoples' access to workforce benefits, unemployment insurance, and health care and which changes to social insurance policy might better serve these communities.
Goals for policy options include:

• Increasing benefit levels and durations to raise more families out of poverty; and
• Making benefits more equitable across states, regions, and racial and ethnic groups.
