Headline: Your Voice, Your Barracks: USAG Hawaii to Host Quality of Life Town Hall

U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii leadership will host a Barracks Quality of Life Town Hall on Tuesday, Jan. 20, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Sgt. Smith Theater on Schofield Barracks.

The event is open to all Soldiers and leaders living in the barracks. The purpose of the forum is to inform the community on the long-term Hawaii modernization plan, educate residents on available resources, and respond directly to Soldier feedback.

"We are committed to providing safe, quality housing for every Soldier," said Col. Rachel Sullivan, USAG Hawaii commander. "Your feedback is essential as we prioritize maintenance and execute our plan to bring 168 newly renovated beds online this year."

For those unable to attend at the theater, the event will be available via Facebook Live Stream on the official USAG Hawaii page. Soldiers are also encouraged to submit questions, comments, and specific concerns via our digital feedback portal. Submissions will be reviewed by leadership and addressed during the session.

It's the ! Today, we're sharing information to make your PCS easier. Whether you are coming to or leaving us for another installation, here are some ways to make moving a breeze โฌ‡๏ธ
๐Ÿ“ฆ Set aside two months of necessary items to keep with you until your household goods arrive.
๐Ÿ” Research your new location's schools, spouse employment opportunities, and military- and family-friendly communities.
๐Ÿ“ƒ Gather and organize your important documents such as birth certificate, marriage certificate, Social Security card, titles, deeds, etc.
๐Ÿ›’ Don't buy anything new for your new home. Wait until you get there.
๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ Declutter before you move and inventory all valuables with photos and/or videos.
โœ… Know your PCS entitlements such as pet expenses reimbursement, weight allocation, dislocation
allowance, per diem, etc.

ATTN Fort Greely On-Post Housing Residents: Starting August 11th there will be a 100% inspections of all homes on the installation.

Residents should schedule their desired appointment time no later than August 11th.

The Fort Greely Army Housing Office will be able to answer any questions that you may have about the process. They can be reached via email at [email protected] or by phone at (907)-873-5154.

Have you scheduled your required housing inspection yet? These inspections are mandatory and must be completed for every home on post. If you donโ€™t make an appointment by August 10, the Army Housing Office will set a date for you and send an es**rt to enter your home โ€” with or without you there.

To avoid this, please schedule your inspection now and plan to be home. If you canโ€™t be there, someone over 18 (family, friend, or neighbor) must be present.

Visit the housing website today and lock in your inspection date before August 10. If youโ€™ve already scheduled, thank you โ€” no further action is needed.

Got something to say about the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) process?

The Office of Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs has randomly sent emails to a fifth of all Servicemembers to participate in the BAH Adequacy Survey.

The survey takes about 20 minutes to complete and participation is voluntary but highly encouraged. The window for input will be open until June 6th.
