This is an LPTM Apprentice 12 years ago, back when he was in our youngest class: Treehouse!
Now he's a Junior Mentor working with little Apprentices who are just as small as he once was. He's about to graduate from high school - with a full ride to college! We are so proud of you, Brother Marquay!

Engaging in your creative abilities is such a source of joy! We're so grateful that our LPTM Apprentices got to experience the thrill of sculpture again in their second session with Glen Echo Pottery volunteers. This time around, they applied colored glaze to the pieces they had sculpted during their previous session!
Many thanks to Glen Echo Pottery for this continued partnership!

Our young Apprentices had SO much fun during Glen Echo Pottery's visit last week! The amazing volunteers guided the boys in creating masks, pendants, pinch pots, and other sculptures. Many thanks to Glen Echo Pottery for this continuing partnership, which brings so much joy and creative opportunity to the boys of Life Pieces!

On Saturdays, LPTM's Saturday Academy program for high schoolers is in session! A few weeks ago, we were at Georgetown University's Center for Social Justice. The young men worked on sketches for upcoming Life Pieces paintings!

Playing is an important part of healthy childhood development! It sharpens creativity, develops fine motor skills, encourages teamwork, and builds friendships. Our Treehouse class (boys from ages 3-4) makes good use of their playtime!
