This is the historic page for what became the largest pie baking concern on the planet founded right here in Georgetown in 1885. Cheers and stay safe!

Because of Covid-19 and the REAL Pandemic we are only providing pies to the homeless, the elderly, and the needy. If you really what a pie at this time hunt me down and be willing to donate to a charity and we will provide you pie(s) as a thank you for your support of the work we have been doing in the World as a family since 1888.

One of my favorite Pie related moments of 2013 was when the Smithsonian man in charge of the exhibit that has featured one of our family pie wagons for over 75 years called me in to discuss why I was using a picture of said pie wagon in publications and advertising! He asked " just when did Henry Copperthite starting working for the Connecticut Pie Company"? He was taken aback and his you can not use Smithsonian property and imagery in anything without our permission! When I informed him that Henry and Johanna O'neil Copperthite founded the Connecticut Pie Company on Thanksgiving Day 1885 registered as a business in 1886 and Incorporated at the Connecticut-Copperthite Pie Baking Company in 1888 and that I had re-trade marked the company in 2013 our 125th Year! And that we had donated the pie wagon to the Smithsonian as it appeared in several important parades in Washington DC including the Presidential Inaugurals of McKinley, Roosevelt, Taft and Wilson, Suffrage Parades, and the Armistice Day, November 11, 1918.
He still muttered as my wife's and I left that we could not use it's likeness without the Smithsonian's granting us permission!
My response "RIGHT"!

Wonder if he liked the pie we gave him?

Our family has been involved since the inception of the House Tour that supports the Mission of St. John's Parish now for over 90 years! We are once again proud to provide pies from the largest Pie Baking Concern on the planet founded right here in Georgetown in 1885, The Connecticut Copperthite Pie Baking Company for the Parish Tea.

The Parish Tea is held in Blake Hall at historic St. John’s Church, 3240 O St. NW. This lovely tea tradition features homemade tea sandwiches and sweets. You may walk in at any time between 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm to delight in what the parish volunteers are serving!

I met Chuck Yeager one day while sitting out in front of the Air & Space Musuem eating my lunch and he walked by. He told me how how his mom used to drive to Georgetown from West Virginia and get pies when he would come home. When he turned 90 something he contacted me and asked how he could buy pies for his birthday and I said the general Yeager? Pies will be on me, sir. Thank you for your service! And I sent him pie!

On this day 123 years ago we revealed our new company logo as drawn by Sir John Tenniel. Tenniel an English illustrator, graphic humorist and political cartoonist is to this day best known for illustrating Alice In Wonderland. Baking the finest pies the world has known for over 135 years! The Connecticut-Copperthite Pie Baking Company of Georgetown, District of Columbia.
