Our family has been involved since the inception of the House Tour that supports the Mission of St. John's Parish now for over 90 years! We are once again proud to provide pies from the largest Pie Baking Concern on the planet founded right here in Georgetown in 1885, The Connecticut Copperthite Pie Baking Company for the Parish Tea.

The Parish Tea is held in Blake Hall at historic St. John’s Church, 3240 O St. NW. This lovely tea tradition features homemade tea sandwiches and sweets. You may walk in at any time between 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm to delight in what the parish volunteers are serving!

Ad we did this time of year in 1940!

I met Chuck Yeager one day while sitting out in front of the Air & Space Musuem eating my lunch and he walked by. He told me how how his mom used to drive to Georgetown from West Virginia and get pies when he would come home. When he turned 90 something he contacted me and asked how he could buy pies for his birthday and I said the general Yeager? Pies will be on me, sir. Thank you for your service! And I sent him pie!

On this day 123 years ago we revealed our new company logo as drawn by Sir John Tenniel. Tenniel an English illustrator, graphic humorist and political cartoonist is to this day best known for illustrating Alice In Wonderland. When Pie History Keeps finding you! A complete stranger reached out to me and said that his grandfather had driven a pie truck for our family in the 1930s or 1940s and that he had a receipt book from his great grandfather, and would be more than happy to give it to us. I thanked him, but said shouldn’t he hang onto that as an heirloom and he said it belong at a place where it would be preserve and hopefully it will! He also asked how to get a hold of a Pie and I said if he made a donation to his favorite charity, I would send him a pie and as a bonus I sent him an over 100 year+ old Connecticut pie company pie tin… which is very rare! The history of pie continues to grow! Thank you!
