The Utah soldiers at the Miracle at Gapyeong may not have known it then, but they were building a legacy that would last long beyond their lives. Their example leaves us with a question: what do we owe the Utahns who come after us? The Great Salt Lake is one piece of that answer, and this week’s video gets into why.

What does the Miracle at Gapyeong teach us about preparation, sacrifice, and courage? The lessons from these Utah soldiers remain just as relevant 75 years later. Read more at the link in bio.

The Miracle at Gapyeong is one of Utah’s greatest military stories, and too few people know it.

Seventy-five years ago this week, 240 Utah National Guardsmen stood against an enemy force of more than 4,000 and held the line without losing a single soldier.

Their actions helped preserve the Republic of Korea at one of its most vulnerable moments and built a friendship between our nations that remains strong more than seven decades later.

This week, I had the honor of visiting Korea to commemorate their sacrifice and remember the legacy they left behind.

Yesterday, we remembered the Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. This week, I’m in Korea honoring brave Utah soldiers who fought during the Korean War in the Miracle at Gapyeong, where Utah troops were outnumbered 16-1 yet stood their ground against impossible odds. Throughout the next few days, I’ll be highlighting the stories and legacy of the servicemembers who fought there.

This week, for just the second time in history, a British monarch addressed Congress. King Charles’s speech offered a fitting opportunity to reflect on 250 years of American independence and the road ahead. This week’s video has more.

Yesterday, the House passed a new farm bill, bringing certainty and support to farmers and ranchers after years of extensions. Backed by over 500 stakeholder groups, the bill strengthens risk management tools, boosts domestic production, supports American specialty crops, and modernizes rural programs, all while staying budget neutral and solidifying nearly $200 billion in SNAP reform.
