It was a privilege to visit Dallas and Jason Bushong’s cattle farm in Woodstock and see firsthand the dedication and hard work that go into sustaining Virginia’s agricultural industry. Discussing the effectiveness of state and federal conservation programs, along with challenges facing the cattle industry such as cattle prices, transportation costs, processing capacity, food safety, and consumer education, is essential to understanding the needs of our farmers.

Expanding access to quality health care in rural Virginia is one of my top priorities.

In September, I sent a letter to CMS urging them to reconsider the non-rural designations in Virginia’s 6th District so more rural communities have the opportunity to receive funding to improve access to healthcare through RHTP.
