🚗Director in the Driver’s Seat
This isn’t a ride-along! Director Jonathan Rogers is behind the wheel. In this series he steps into the role of a taxi driver, operating both regular and WAV taxi services to gain firsthand insight from the driver’s perspective.
🚨ATTENTION 🚨The For‑Hire Vehicle Advisory Council (FHVAC) meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 10 has been canceled. The Department of For-Hire Vehicles will work with FHVAC members to coordinate a new date and will share the rescheduled meeting information once confirmed.

On Sunday, March 1, International Wheelchair Day, Transport DC will offer rides all day passengers that require a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV)! Trips will not count toward registered customers monthly 10 one-way trip allotment.
Transport DC (TDC) is a premium alternative transportation service for WMATA Metro Access customers that provides DC eligible riders with taxicab rides to and from any location within DC. Riders must be DC residents registered with Metro Access.

🚨❄️Due to the Snow Emergency, the Department of For-Hire Vehicles (DFHV) offices, TransportDC, and all other transportation programs and operations are suspended. Passengers may contact taxi companies directly to request WAV or dialysis trips.
Additionally, DFHV established a Snow Emergency Fare beginning at 12:01 am on Sunday, January 25, 2026. The Snow Emergency Fare adds a flat $15 per trip to the metered taxi fare for trips originating in the District.
