Thanks to Rachel Palermo, former SGA President, for her endorsement!
"Happy Election Day, Oles! I'm proud to endorse Emma and Sarah for SGA's President and Vice President. I can't think of two more qualified and passionate individuals for the roles.
I worked with Emma extensively last year through her work with the It's On Us campaign to combat sexual assault. She was always brainstorming new ideas and engaging new areas of campus--always bringing a unique perspective to the table. Most importantly, Emma's positive attitude was always the encouragement our team needed-- I don't know where we would have been without her leadership.
I've known Sarah since Week One of her first year at St. Olaf. She launched right into getting involved on campus-- making strides on important issues. From environmental organizing, to working with the administration on large-scale curriculum changes, Sarah has been dedicated to making St. Olaf a better place.
Emma and Sarah both have what it takes to make positive change on campus. They're dedicated and strategic-- and they'll lead St. Olaf in the right direction."

We are thrilled to announce the endorsement of last year's SGA Vice President, Nick Stumo-Langer. Thanks, Nick! We are proud to have you !
"I fully and wholeheartedly endorse the dynamic team of Emma Lind and Sarah Bresnahan for the Student Government Association President and Vice President due to their passion for getting things done on student issues, intimate knowledge of the process needed to effect change, and keen sense for what students want.
On Emma: I have worked with Emma during her time planning events for students and I am impressed by the dedication she shows for creating inclusive and fun events. In many conversations with her, Emma has expressed her concern for including all Oles in the process of SGA.
On Sarah: Working closely with Sarah during my time as Vice President, I am hard pressed to find another person that could better fill the role of Vice President and Senate Chair. She knows how to mitigate student concerns and advocate for them to the administration and has, time and again, demonstrated this ability."

We have been talking to many people and eliciting as much feedback as possible this past week. As a large part of our platform is the importance of student initiatives, we took some of these ideas into consideration and are excited to share them with you all. Thank you for taking the time to engage in these important conversations with us- we hope you'll continue to do so! We plan on:
1. Restructuring the budget to bring in speakers and activities that address discrimination head on. No type of discrimination has a place on this campus, and it is important to prioritize events that focus on fostering constructive campus conversation.
2. Demanding the prioritization of mental health through support of the GreaterThan Campaign and other student services. Issues of mental health are prevalent on this campus and there must be more emphasis placed on the destigmatization of mental health.
3. Implementing a Bias Incident Response Team (BIRT) comprised of students and faculty, where we will have a process for evaluating acts of discrimination so action can be taken accordingly. We can’t allow discrimination against our friends and classmates to be ignored any longer.
4. Restructuring the G.E. system. The recent changes to the MCD G.E. were a good start, but these changes obviously need to be taken further. St. Olaf needs a concrete mandate to ensure that honest and informed conversations about discrimination happen in the classroom.
We welcome all student feedback, so please continue to contact us!
