Become a Ballot Buddy!
Did you know that Washington, DC has the highest percentage of registered voters, and yet less than 26% of voters cast their ballots in the 2024 primary? Through the DC Vote from Home Initiative, sponsored by DC Women in Politics, residents, community organizations, civic leaders, and neighborhood networks are encouraged to expand voter participation across the District of Columbia. Though the initiative is still in its early stages, 12 Ballot Buddies and at least two civic and community organizations have already committed.
Join the Ballot Buddy network below and ask friends, family, and community groups to help people take part in the Sunday, June 7th, 2026, DC Vote from Home Day. Help at least three people and encourage them to do the same. Make voting from home easier for your family, friends, and community.
As a Ballot Buddy, you can help people:
find their ballot,
review it section by section,
understand the offices and candidates,
use Ranked Choice Voting,
complete and sign the ballot correctly,
mail or return it on time.
DC Women in Politics is a diverse group of women including those interested in running for elected office, as well as those who are dedicated to promoting the election of women to public offices.
