This analysis scrutinizes widely circulated right-wing claims that millionaires are fleeing New York because of proposed 2% tax increases by Mamdani.

The video features several prominent right-wing commentators who argue that millionaires will leave New York in response to Mamdani’s proposed 2% tax rate on individuals earning over $1 million per year. Such claims have been repeatedly made over the past 15 years, as documented in the video each year.

This tax will uplift downtrodden New Yorkers. The more people we lift into higher income brackets, the more consumers there are, which will benefit wealthy investors. It is an investment in Human capital and not a charity.

In contrast to these assertions, the number of millionaires in New York has doubled to 34,000 since 2010. The video compiles 15 annual clips within a two-minute segment.
