To the attention of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan currently abroad! According to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan the validity of the passports of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan that expired by or expire after January 01, 2020 is considered valid until July 01, 2021. Please note that the citizens of Azerbaijan cannot cross international borders with expired passports. Therefore, in order to travel to Azerbaijan you will have to apply for return certificate via Embassy prior to your departure. Following the World Health Organization's designation of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) as the Pandemic and the respective measures taken by Azerbaijani and U.S. authorities, the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan will operate on a limited basis until further notice.

Please note that all and any visitors will be received only with scheduled appointment related to urgent cases.

These appointments must be made in advance and directly with Consular Officers. Urgency of the case can be established ONLY by a Consular Officer. Please do not visit the Embassy without an appointment! We will not be able to receive you.

Please contact us via phone +1 202 337 59 12 or email: [email protected] and make sure to get a confirmation of your scheduled appointment. This rule is mandatory and is for ensuring the safety of all visitors.

For all visitors to the United States, please note that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises that all travelers entering the United States from countries the CDC has identified as experiencing widespread sustained spread of COVID-19 stay home or hotel for 14 days after travel.

Effective March 13, 2020, at midnight travel restrictions between the U.S. and Europe will be implemented. Azerbaijan is NOT on the list of the countries that fall within the scope of this limitation, however, if you have traveled to any of the Schengen Area countries within 14 days your entry into the United States will be suspended.

The Embassy continues to monitor the situation surrounding the COVID-19 coronavirus and will keep the citizens of Azerbaijan living in the U.S. and prospective visitors to Azerbaijan updated.
