What an incredible day at Scrub Wars! 🩺

Superintendent Mitchell joined our Ward 8 Advanced Technical Center students for a high‑energy, hands‑on showdown where learners put their healthcare skills to the test.

With support from exceptional partners across the region, students moved through real‑world simulation stations that connect classroom learning to in‑demand healthcare careers.

Huge thanks to all our partners for helping bring these pathways to life. Proud of our Ward 8 ATC scholars for showing up, leveling up, and shining at every station!

DC leads the nation in academic recovery.

A new national education scorecard found that ranked No. 1 in the country in both math and reading recovery between 2022 and 2025.

That means students in DC are making stronger academic gains than anywhere else in the country, even as we know there is still more work ahead.

We are proud of the progress our students and are making, and we are staying focused on helping every child keep growing.
