On March 4th, from 3:30 - 5 PM in MGC 245, The Center for Advocacy & Student Equity and the Office of Student Conflict and Conflict Resolution Services invite you to attend our event regarding Bias-Motivated Incidents on campus and how they interact with the Student Conduct Code.
A member of American University’s General Counsel will be in attendance to explain the history of free speech on college campuses and specifically AU. The event will be used to explain Section VIII regarding Bias-Motivated Incidents on campus and how the conduct process will address such incidents.
We invite you to come learn and ask questions about this addition to the Conduct Code and how we, as a community, can continue to hold each other accountable.

This past week, Mitchell Lenneville, the Director of Financial Aid and Affordability in AUSG, debuted the website www.ratemyfinaid.com. The website is designed to allow students to share their experiences with the Financial Aid Office at American University. The Center for Advocacy and Student Equity would like to encourage individuals to share any thoughts they may have regarding American’s Financial Aid Office and their interactions with such. Additionally, we would like to remind students that CASE is a resource that is here to help regarding AU policies and procedures, never hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]!

Email Feedback 01/27/2020

Today, The Office of Student Life sent an email to the student body as a means of addressing the rising concerns pertaining to mental health resources on campus. However, the statement fell drastically short in discussing student’s grievances and did not adequately address the problem regarding AU’s mental health resources. Students at American University should be provided wit the opportunity to have their concerns heard and the university must actively listen to the student body in order to make necessary changes regarding this pressing issue.

Share your thoughts regarding AU’s mental health resources and suggestions of ways in which we can improve our community as a whole through this form below. The information that you provide here is confidential unless you state otherwise. Additionally, the Center for Advocacy and Student Equity is here to serve you the best we can by advocating for student’s rights on campus. Contact [email protected] if you would like to schedule a meeting pertaining to student’s rights or and code related issues.
