Big personalities. Real talk. Leaders who show up as themselves. 🌱

Last year, LGBTQ+ leaders and allies from across the country got candid with us, from "Landslide Mayes" to PBS NewsHour fandom to the advice we can't stop repeating: "Your voice matters, so share it. Just do it."

This year, we're Deeply Rooted, Growing Stronger. Join us in Washington, D.C., December 3–5 for the 2026 International LGBTQ+ Leaders Conference.

September was a big month for LGBTQ+ leadership. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

πŸ›οΈ Washington, DC (9/14): We welcomed Congress back to town with Q Street, the LGBT Congressional Staff Association and GLASS at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck.

🌍 New York City (9/22): During UN General Assembly week, more than 120 guests joined us at the historic Stonewall Inn to welcome Rob Jetten, the first openly gay Prime Minister of the Netherlands. Seeing an LGBTQ+ head of government on the world stage shows what our Global Programs work is building toward: out leaders at every level of government, all over the world.

πŸ—½ New York City (9/26): Our LGBTQ+ Public Leadership Summit brought together future candidates and public servants. They spent the afternoon in hands-on workshops, heard from out elected officials on our "Running as an Out LGBTQ+ Candidate" panel, and built connections that will last well beyond the day.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and made this month one to remember. πŸ’š

Yesterday, the U.S. Department of Education formally rescinded the Title IX rules that protected LGBTQ+ students from discrimination and harassment based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

The repeal takes away the federal standard that told schools, in plain terms, that LGBTQ+ students belong. Transgender students have been targeted most directly, but this affects le***an, gay and bisexual students too. It comes just months after the Supreme Court upheld state bans on transgender girls and women playing school sports.

The message to LGBTQ+ young people is clear, and it is wrong. You deserve to be safe at school. You deserve to be seen. You deserve to learn without fear.

With federal protections gone, decisions about student safety now rest with states, school boards and local leaders. That is why LGBTQ+ representation matters. Openly LGBTQ+ school board members, state legislators and local officials across the country are working to protect students in their communities, and we will keep supporting them.

To every LGBTQ+ student: you are not alone, and we are not backing down.
