The “Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act” (T**A) is one of the District’s most important, and most controversial, tenant rights laws. Over the past couple years, T**A has become even more of a “hot-button” issue. Disputes over “bona fide offer” and “portfolio sales,” and other aspects of T**A, have been taken up both by the Courts and by the Council.
The next OTA stakeholder meeting will be devoted to these T**A controversies. An expert panel will explain what is really at stake for District renters:
1. Blake Biles, attorney, Arnold & Porter
2. Scott Bruton, Director of Housing Policy I Coalition for Nonprofit Housing & Economic Development
3. Jon Tycko, attorney, Tycko & Zavareei LLP
4. Amir Sadeghy, attorney advisor, Office of the Tenant Advocate
This meeting will be held on Wed., April 22nd, from 1 to 3 pm, at the OTA office, located at 2000 14th Street, NW, Suite 300 North.
