Transit safety is a pillar of the Trump Administration, and the FTA Office of Transit Safety and Oversight recently joined forces with State Safety Oversight partners and Rail Transit Agencies at our latest Safety Workshop, sharing updates on risk-based inspection strategies and reinforcing that safety isn’t a checklist, but requires ongoing collaboration.

FTA Region 10 Administrator Susan Fletcher joined our transit partners in Seattle for the groundbreaking of the King County Metro Transit's new RapidRide I Line, a 17.3-mile Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor that is a game-changer for the region and is designed to slash travel times and elevate the rider experience. The project was supported by $99 million in federal funding initiated during President Trump’s first term and will move King County forward.
