Al-Anfal or Spoils of War, was a genocide campaign against the Kurdish people in Iraq. Hundreds of thousands lost their life, mostly civilians. On this day 1988, the Ba’ath Regime of Iraq dropped chemical bombs in the Kurdistan Region. The city of Halabja was hit the hardest and is a symbol of the Kurdish genocide in Iraq.

Remembering the great Kurdish leader Mustafa Barzani who stood against tyranny. He faced his enemies head on and made sure the Kurdish people had self determination and freedom. We remember him in our hearts and because of him Kurds are able to have freedom.
