DHS’ Office of Emergency Management recently organized a blood drive with for our team members.
Thanks to all who donated—especially our 12 first-time donors! Together, we added 15 pints to the local supply, helping ensure DC area providers always have the life-saving blood they need to care for patients.

DHS recently welcomed delegates from Bogotá, Colombia and the World Bank to discuss effective strategies for strengthening homeless services. Our team highlighted key programs and strategies that have made a significant impact in the District, including our day centers, bridge housing, emergency response coordination, data-driven decision making, and supportive housing services and case management.
We value collaborative exchanges like this, which strengthen global partnership, spark innovation, and allow cities to learn from each other. Our team will use this conversation to further inform our approach here in the District—and we hope the information our team shared helps the Bogotá delegation continue to make progress in addressing homelessness back home.
