This Military Spouse Appreciation Day, we honor the husbands and wives who stand beside the brave men and women of our nation’s military.

Military spouses carry the weight of deployments, moves, uncertainty, and sacrifice with strength and grace. Their support keeps our military families strong and makes our Armed Forces stronger.

To the military spouses across North Carolina’s Great Eighth District, thank you for your resilience, dedication, and love of our country.

Logan Federico should still be alive today.

She was a bright young woman from my district with her whole life ahead of her, but her life was stolen by a repeat violent criminal with 39 prior arrests who never should have been on our streets.

This is why I am proud to cosponsor ’s Logan’s Law to help ensure judges and prosecutors have the information they need before another innocent life is taken. Violent criminals belong behind bars, not running loose on our streets.

As America prepares to celebrate 250 years of independence, I sent a letter to Secretary Hegseth urging the Department of Defense to honor Army Security Agency veterans for their service to our country.

These servicemembers carried out highly classified intelligence work during the Cold War, Korean War, and Vietnam War, often without public recognition. Their quiet service helped keep America safe, and it is time they receive the gratitude they earned.

This Small Business Week, I’m proud to recognize one of my outstanding constituents, Courtney Silver. As president and owner of Ketchie Inc., Courtney leads a third-generation precision CNC machine shop with fewer than 25 employees.

Across the country, nearly 12 million small business owners like Courtney are seeing an average tax cut of nearly $7,000 thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts.

Thank you, Courtney, for strengthening our economy and representing the hard work and heart of America’s small business owners.

Boys do not belong in girls’ bathrooms. Period.

This is happening in my own district. It is completely unacceptable. Students should not have to beg school officials to take their safety seriously.

We must protect our girls and defend their private spaces. It’s common sense.

One of my favorite parts of serving North Carolina’s Eighth District is getting to see the incredible talent of students across our district.

This year, I am proud to recognize Emelie Garcia, a senior at Marvin Ridge High School, as our 2026 Congressional Art Competition winner for her beautiful piece, “Keeping the Rain Away.”

Congratulations, Emelie! Your artwork will represent North Carolina’s Eighth District in the U.S. Capitol for the year ahead.

I also want to congratulate our runners-up, Zachary Martz for “Zoey” and Rielyn Lavalle for “Family Fireworks.” Our district has so many talented young artists, and I am grateful to every student who took part in this year’s competition.

On this National Day of Prayer, let us come together in gratitude, humility, and faith.

Today and every day, may we lift up our nation, our leaders, our servicemembers, our churches, and our communities in prayer.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18

As a pastor, I have seen the power of prayer in the lives of families, churches, and communities. Prayer works. God hears us, heals us, and redeems us through His grace.

I am deeply grateful for the blessings of my family, my church, and the people of North Carolina’s Eighth District who have entrusted me with the honor of serving and representing this wonderful community.

It was an honor to meet everyone who attended the 2026 North Carolina Eighth District Military Service Academy Day!

Attending a U.S. service academy is an immense honor, and these young men and women who are willing to serve our country and protect our cherished freedoms deserve tremendous recognition and respect.

Thank you to the representatives from each academy for sharing your insights and answering questions about academy life and the admissions process.

I am proud to support these future leaders as they pursue military higher education and prepare to serve our nation.

Welcome to this week’s Working Families Tax Cuts Wednesday! During National Small Business Week, we’re celebrating the hardworking entrepreneurs who keep Main Street strong.

Through the Working Families Tax Cuts, small business owners are seeing real relief — including a permanent 20% small business deduction and larger write-offs to help them invest, grow, and create good-paying jobs.

Small businesses do more than drive our economy. They strengthen our communities, support families, create opportunity, and keep the American Dream alive.

I’m lovin’ the opportunity to discuss the benefits of the Working Families Tax Cuts with folks in our community.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mashoor Awad, the owner and operator of McDonald’s in Concord, North Carolina, along with his team. We discussed how these tax cuts support local businesses, working families, and the employees who keep them running.

During my visit, I was honored to present a Congressional Challenge Coin to Nicole Everett. Nicole is a dedicated McDonald’s crew member whose college tuition is fully covered through Archways to Opportunity, McDonald’s education program that helps employees further their education and advance their careers.

I also had the chance to step behind the counter, make a few menu items, and serve customers alongside the team.

Thank you for having me, McDonald’s!

Through reconciliation, we are funding CBP and ICE to protect our homeland and prevent another invasion.

Democrats continue to obstruct the mandate Americans gave to secure the border.

Republicans are fighting to keep our nation safe.
