Remember The Ninth!
“The (ninth) amendment uniquely provides explicit guidance on how to interpret the Constitution. Specifically, it tells us that “unenumerated rights deserve no less protection from courts than those that were enumerated.” Accordingly, interpretations contrary to that principle are constitutionally prohibited.”
Americans Should Remember the Ninth Amendment
Two hundred and thirty years ago today, on November 20, 1789, New Jersey became the first state to ratify the proposed amendments to the Constitution that we now know as the Bill of Rights. Over the next two years, other states followed suit, culminating in the adoption of the amendments in December

One of the most important of the unenumerated rights protected by the 9th Amendment is the right to act on individual conscience, to defy an unjust law and subsequently challenge it in court and have it struck down.

“Prohibition never works. It doesn’t work with fi****ms. It hasn’t worked with ma*****na. It hasn’t worked anywhere it is tried. What prohibition does, is it makes things more dangerous and it pushes people into unregulated black markets.
That’s exactly what a ban on flavored e ci******es will do. It will push people to the black markets… and if we’re concerned about black market v**e cartridges getting people sick? Well, then the last thing we want to do is push more people towards the black market. It is a completely counter productive policy.
And on top of that it’s unconstitutional. You know, I support the ninth amendment. Our ninth amendment right to keep and bear flavored e ci******es. Our ninth amendment says that just because some rights are listed in the Constitution– they aren’t all listed– doesn’t mean we don’t have the right to exercise them. All rights are retained by the people. That President certainly doesn’t have unilateral authority to ban something like this. And neither does neither would Congress if they tried.”

The Ninth Amendment protects your right to Vape...if anyone in government bothered to read it.

Happy Constitution day! And in particular remember the Ninth Amendment, because your rights are universal and not to be limited by government.

The Bill of Right does not grant rights. It only recognizes them. All of the rights it recognizes and myriad others referred to in the 9th Amendment but not specifically enumerated, are the birthright of every man, no matter who they are or where they are from.

The ninth amendment should be completely unnecessary, and yet it is absolutely essential to understanding the Bill of Rights.

According to John Locke, “rights” provide the basis upon which people consent to join society. The idea that people have a reasonable expectation to every left wing social welfare program—and that they wouldn’t want to be included in society without them—simply doesn’t pass the laugh test.
Additionally, Rights cannot be resource-dependent. (If they could be, we couldn’t have an expectation to them—no matter what the government’s economic situation might be.) One can reasonably expect the government to provide (or sustain) the original rights at all times. The same cannot be said for Roosevelt’s “rights,” or any of the others that came after. One cannot have a reasonable expectation of material wellbeing at all times.

Progressives keep using the language of 'rights' to excuse and facilitate their agenda. But the word doesn't mean what they think it means.

If you think that any level of government has a purpose more important than protecting the inherent rights of individuals then you are part of the problem not part of the solution. The founders of our nation wrote divided powers into the Constitution, not so that there would be more governments exercising their power and running your life, but so that there would be more safeguards for your liberty. They understood that the nature of human government is to become corrupt and excessive and they hoped that three branches of government and having both state and federal governments would create a situation where there would always be someone who found advantage in looking out for the rights of the people.

A bit too much "what if" in this article, but it makes some very good points.
"What if liberty really is attached to humanity? What if all rational people yearn for personal freedom? What if the government — in order to stay in power — has detached liberty from humanity and made it a gift of the state instead of a gift of God? What if government knows that by restricting and then expanding liberty, it can command loyalty?"
What if Liberty is Attached to Humanity?
What if there is a sense of hopelessness in the land? What if this hopelessness is bred by a government that kills, lies, steals, conceals and denies?
