Yesterday was all about gratitude.
To my incredible executive board—thank you for your leadership, dedication, and the countless hours you pour into making CCPMRC what it is. Your commitment does not go unnoticed.
To our volunteers—past and present—thank you for showing up, serving selflessly, and being the heart of our mission. Every event, every training, every moment of impact is because of you.
To our speakers—thank you for educating, inspiring, and empowering us to be better healthcare professionals and advocates for our communities.
Together, we are stronger. And because of all of you, we continue uplifting healthcare, strengthening community resilience, and making a difference—one life at a time.
Sincerely,
Piriye Bamson

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Desha Holden-Nelson for taking the time to speak with our students during Black Maternal Health Week.
Her presentation was both powerful and eye-opening—highlighting that nearly 80% of Black maternal deaths are preventable and bringing awareness to the higher rates of cardiovascular complications experienced by Black women before and after pregnancy as well as emergency preparedness measures mothers can take to protect themselves and their little ones.
We especially appreciated the call to action to stay informed by understanding the data within our own communities, empowering us to become stronger advocates where it matters most.
Your dedication to advancing maternal health equity and uplifting Black women through education and advocacy is truly inspiring. The knowledge shared was invaluable.
Thank you again for pouring into our students—we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

It was a pleasure connecting with students and sharing tips on emergency preparedness, healthy eating, and more. The students had to memorize their tip and later return to recite it back to us for prizes. Check out the second slide to see the excitement.
With CCPMRC & NCPA, we’re proud to keep advocating for our community’s health and well-being!
