On December 29th 2024 Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States (1977–1981) passed away after living to be 100 years old.
He is best known for his commitment to human rights, environmental conservation, and diplomacy.
Born on October 1, 1924, in Plains, Georgia, as James Earl Carter Jr. his political career focused on promoting peace and equality.
His administration brokered the Camp David Accords between Israel and Egypt and prioritized energy policies to address the 1970s energy crisis. Despite challenges such as the Iran hostage crisis and economic issues, Carter's post-presidency work earned him widespread admiration. Through the Carter Center, he has worked tirelessly on global health initiatives, election monitoring, and poverty alleviation, culminating in his receipt of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002.

Proceedings have been initiated against two presidents of the United States. Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton are the only two presidents to have been successfully impeached by the House of Representatives, and both were later acquitted by the Senate.
The impeachment process against Richard Nixon was technically unsuccessful, as Nixon resigned his office before the vote of the full House.
